Hudson Man Arrested for Homicide After Standoff; Victim Found Dead
A Hudson man has been charged with homicide after police discovered a woman dead inside his home following an hours-long standoff.
Authorities identified the suspect as 54-year-old Chad Aaron Haworth, a resident of the 1600 block of Namekagon Street in Hudson.
Haworth remains in custody at the St. Croix County Jail on charges of first-degree intentional homicide with use of a dangerous weapon, mayhem with use of a dangerous weapon and aggravated battery classified as domestic abuse.
Hudson police were dispatched to Haworth’s residence at 3:09 p.m. Wednesday, March 5 for a welfare check. While speaking with him on the phone, officers heard statements that led them to believe someone inside the home was in danger. Haworth refused to exit the residence and made threats indicating he wanted officers to shoot him. Negotiators engaged with him for several hours before he ultimately surrendered without further incident. He was taken into custody and transported to the St. Croix County Jail.
A security sweep of the home led to the discovery of an adult female who was deceased. Authorities have not yet released her identity or the circumstances surrounding her death.
