3 Found Dead in Wisconsin Home, Authorities Search for Suspect
New Lisbon police say three people—including two juveniles—were found dead inside a home Monday morning.
The discovery came just hours after law enforcement in nearby Monroe County began searching for a missing juvenile last seen with 47-year-old Virgil Thew, who has since been named a person of interest in the investigation.
New Lisbon, a town of about 2,500 people in Juneau County, sits roughly 70 miles northwest of Madison. Crime scene tape surrounded a residence on the 300 block of West Bridge Street as investigators worked to process the scene.

Authorities say the timeline began Sunday night, when Monroe County law enforcement began investigating the disappearance of a juvenile who was reportedly picked up by Thew. By 7:40 a.m. Monday, New Lisbon police received a second report of a missing child in their community.
A few hours later, officers discovered the bodies of two juveniles and one adult female inside the home. The female victim has been identified as 33-year-old Elizabeth Kolba. Few details about their deaths have been released and authorities have not said how Thew may have known the victims. Both children, ages 12 and 13, are girls, but their names and relationship to Kolba have not been publicly released yet..
The Wisconsin State Crime Lab, Juneau County Sheriff’s Office and Monroe County Sheriff’s Office are assisting with the investigation.
Thew is considered armed and dangerous and authorities have warned the public to avoid approaching him. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is urged to contact the New Lisbon Police Department or call 911. Thew is a white male, around 5’10” and weighs around 150 lbs. He was last seen wearing a dark-colored down coat and hat.
